Join us in Portland, Oregon for a fun, family-friendly 2-hour introduction to beekeeping designed for curious kids, parents, and anyone who loves nature. In this interactive workshop, we’ll explore the fascinating world of honeybees, learning about the roles of the queen, worker, and drones, how hives function, and why pollinators are so important to our local ecosystem. We’ll walk through the basics of starting a small backyard hive, show real beekeeping equipment, and (weather permitting) safely observe a hive demonstration from a comfortable distance. Families will also learn how honey is harvested and bottled, with a sweet tasting at the end. This welcoming, hands-on experience is all about building confidence around bees, encouraging environmental stewardship, and sharing the magic of pollinators with the next generation.
